Jenny Brown – President 
Jenny Brown is a native of Albuquerque, New Mexico and completed her undergraduate studies at New Mexico State University where she obtained her B.Sc in Biology/Chemistry with minors in Biochemistry and Forensic Science. Jenny has lived in Maryland since 2005 where she has spent the past 10.5 years as a forensic toxicologist. She started out by working in research with the National Institute on Drug Abuse in Baltimore, then transitioned to being a supervisor of quality assurance at the Armed Forces Medical Examiner System and most recently served as the Quality Manger for the toxicology laboratory as well as the Breath Alcohol Program Manager for the District of Columbia at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner here in Washington DC. She enjoys hobby photography and hanging out with her husband, Mike, and their rescue dog Max at their home in Silver Spring, MD! Jenny is really excited to be a part of the Smith community! She looks forward to continuing to meet new people, to get involved and help support the other MBA’s and to give back to the community at large, starting with serving as a first-year board member for the SCOC! Contact: Jennifer.Brown@rhsmith.umd.edu

Madeleine Mersky – Executive Vice President 
Madeleine is a second-year MBA candidate focusing on General Management, Supply Chain, & Consulting. Following her first year, she worked at Amazon as a Pathways Operations Intern. She has an undergraduate degree in Economics and Government & Politics from the University of Maryland.  Prior to business school, Madeleine was a co-founder of and served as VP of Product & Operations for a startup which developed TaptIn, an iOS & Android mobile application which connects hospitality and entertainment venues to their customers. In addition to her role as EVP for the Supply Chain & Operations Club, Madeleine is a Deans Fellow, a Forté Fellow, and serves as EVP for the Entrepreneurship Club, Jewish MBA club, and as the Co-VP of Technology & Awareness for the Data Analytics Club. Contact: Madeleine.Mersky@rhsmith.umd.edu


Shishir Bhargava – VP Finance

Shishir is an enthusiastic, resolute and action oriented supply chain manager. He enjoys solving complex problems and optimizing business and operational processes. As a manager, Shishir seeks to build an understanding among people, and lead them to creatively solve tough problems. He loves to work with talented people and learn from their experiences while working with them. He has three years of quality work experience in the field of supply chain with Hero MotoCorp,  the largest motorcycle manufacturers in the world. Shishir has optimized processes, reduced inventory levels, formulated and implemented sourcing strategies and in the process received awards and recognition for his work from the organization. Contact: Shishir.Bhargava@rhsmith.umd.edu

Kathleen Sampson Schoolfield – Vice President, External Affairs

Kathleen is an MBA student with a career focus in Supply Chain, bringing experience from the food manufacturing environment, having spent three years with Martin’s Potato Rolls prior to Smith. At Martin’s, Kathleen did employee relations, performance management, and training and development for supervisors and managers. She completed several projects with the transportation and industrial maintenance departments. She analyzed company-wide employee satisfaction survey results. Additionally, Kathleen authored and edited all company policies and advised senior management on DOL and DOT compliance issues. In the future, she would like to work in operations or transportation management. Kathleen is fluent in Spanish. Outside of work and school, Kathleen enjoys following DC sports teams, drinking coffee, and traveling. Contact: Kathleen.Sampson@rhsmith.umd.edu


Kevin Hannigan – Vice President, Marketing

Kevin is a second-year MBA with a focus in Supply Chain. He previously attended the University of Maryland, graduating with an undergraduate degree in Communication in 2011. He had spent four years working in broadcast journalism, first as an intern for Special Report w/Bret Baier at Fox News Channel, then as a Desk Assistant and Researcher for NBC News Washington, and finally as an Assignment Editor for ABC-7/WJLA in the Washington, DC market. This past summer, he interned as a Procurement Specialist for Fannie Mae. Kevin also serves as the President of the Professional Communications Club, Vice President of Marketing for the MBA Consulting Club, and is the co-founder and Vice President of Logistics for the Data Analytics Club. Contact: Kevin.Hannigan@rhsmith.umd.edu
