Kelsey Giraitis – President: Kelsey is the President of the Supply Chain and Operations club and is pursuing a career in supply chain and consulting. This summer she interned at Cognizant Business Consulting as a Retail Supply Chain Consultant working on an advanced supply chain upgrade project for Target in Minneapolis, MN. Prior to Smith, she worked at Air Products and Chemicals in various roles as a mechanical engineer.

Regina Cline – Executive VP: Regina is a second year MBA candidate at the Robert H. Smith School of Business focusing on Strategy and Supply Chain Management. Aside from SCOC, Regina is also the EVP for the Smith Association of Women MBAs and the VP of Signature Events for the Personal Communications Club. Originally from Minnesota, Regina completed her undergraduate at the University of Wisconsin Stout with a Bachelors of Science in Apparel Design and Development and a Business Administration minor. Prior to Smith, she spent five years working in NYC as a fashion and graphic designer for sportswear and loungewear. Regina spent her summer working at Deloitte Consulting as a Strategy and Operations Summer Associate for their federal practice in the DMV area and will be returning upon graduating.


Russell Garing – VP of Finance: A former operations manager at a nationwide law firm, he came business school to focus on operations and supply-chain. During his time here he helped Embitterment grow from a single batch of bitters to full fledged company. He’s looking forward to continuing his love of operations problems and optimizations after completing his MBA.


Nitin Kumar – VP of Career Development: Nitin Kumar has a background in mechanical engineering with experience working as a Product Engineer in the automotive industry. He is pursuing a career in Operations and Strategy at Smith. He is a big sports fan, and unwinds everyday by playing soccer and squash.


Lifeng (Anne) Gong -VP of Marketing: Liaoning University of Technology, Jinzhou, China Bachelor of Science, Industrial Foreign Trade. 2008~2014:Capital Equipment Inbound program Manager for Intel Dalian F68 semiconductor factory and North Asia Logistics customer survive manager for Intel China.


Justin Halteman – VP of Programming: Justin is in his second year of the full time MBA program and has a focus in general management and operations. Between his first and second year, Justin interned at Fannie Mae, and worked to review and maximize efficiency in the company’s corporate service vendor contracts. Previous to entering the Robert H. Smith MBA program, Justin completed undergraduate degrees in architectural and civil engineering at Drexel University. He previously worked as a registered structural engineer in the greater Philadelphia area. In addition to the supply chain club, Justin represents the Maryland graduate students as a senator on the University of Maryland University Senate. Justin also works as a graduate assistant in the office of the Dean, where he is advising the Dean’s office on future capital projects.


John Kjeldgaard – VP of External Relations: Prior to starting the Smith MBA program, John worked in textile mill in Madagascar doing process improvement, increasing capacity and optimizing on-time delivery. He has worked in 3 languages with colleagues from 7 different countries. Before this he served in the Peace Corps for two years working in small enterprise development. John is a native of the DC area and enjoys baseball, hiking, fishing and skeet shooting.

First Year Board:

Shishir Bhargava: Shishir is an enthusiastic, resolute and action oriented supply chain manager.He enjoys solving complex problems and optimizing business and operational processes. As a manager, Shishir seeks to build an understanding among people, and lead them to creatively solve tough problems. He loves to work with talented people and learn from their experiences while working with them. He has three years of quality work experience in the field of supply chain with Hero MotoCorp,  the largest motorcycle manufacturers in the world. Shishir has optimized processes, reduced inventory levels, formulated and implemented sourcing strategies and in the process received awards and recognition for his work from the organization.

Madeleine Mersky: Madeleine is a first-year MBA candidate at the Robert H. Smith School of Business focusing on General Management, Supply Chain, & Consulting. Madeleine is originally from Bethesda, MD and has a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Government & Politics from the University of Maryland, College Park.  Prior to business school, Madeleine co-founded and served as VP of Product & Operations for a startup which developed TaptIn, an iOS & Android mobile application which connects hospitality and entertainment venues to their customers. In addition to being a First Year Board Member for the Supply Chain and Operations Club, Madeleine is a Deans Fellow, a Forté Fellow, the Co-VP of Technology & Awareness for the Data Analytics Club, and a First Year Board Member for the Entrepreneurship Club and Professional Communications Club.


Harpreet Ghuman: Harpreet has 6 years of work experience in the field of sales and marketing in oil industry in India, for a Fortune 500 firm – BPCL. His work profile involved sales, marketing, inventory management, and brand development. He is currently looking to transition into the field of supply chain through his MBA at Smith, since he feels he has an inherent interest in matters involving supply chain and logistics.


Kevin Hannigan: Kevin is a first year MBA with a focus in Supply Chain. He previously attended the University of Maryland, graduating with an undergraduate degree in Communication in 2011. He has spent the past four years working in broadcast journalism, first as an intern for Special Report w/Bret Baier at Fox News Channel, then as a Desk Assistant and Researcher for NBC News Washington, and finally as an Assignment Editor for ABC-7/WJLA in the Washington, DC market. He has had experience working in press offices on both the House and Senate sides of Capitol Hill as well. Kevin is also a first-year board member with the Smith school’s Professional Communications Club, and is the co-founder and Vice President of Logistics for the Data Analytics Club. Additionally, he serves as a first-year track representative to the Smith MBA Association.


Jenny Brown: Jenny Brown is a native of Albuquerque, New Mexico and completed her undergraduate studies at New Mexico State University where she obtained her B.Sc in Biology/Chemistry with minors in Biochemistry and Forensic Science. Jenny has lived in Maryland since 2005 where she has spent the past 10.5 years as a forensic toxicologist. She started out by working in research with the National Institute on Drug Abuse in Baltimore, then transitioned to being a supervisor of quality assurance at the Armed Forces Medical Examiner System and most recently served as the Quality Manger for the toxicology laboratory as well as the Breath Alcohol Program Manager for the District of Columbia at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner here in Washington DC. She enjoys hobby photography and hanging out with her husband, Mike, and their rescue dog Max at their home in Silver Spring, MD! Jenny is really excited to be a part of the Smith community! She looks forward to continuing to meet new people, to get involved and help support the other MBA’s and to give back to the community at large, starting with serving as a first-year board member for the SCOC!


Jemie Hernandez Ernau: Originally from Lima – Peru, Jemie Hernandez Ernau obtained his B.S. Business Management at Universidad San Martin de Porres. He then moved to the United States where he joined the US Navy and served as a Corpsman for almost 6 years. After gaining valuable leadership experience, he separated from the Navy to pursue his MBA and MS in Supply Chain Management.


Brett Hunniecutt: As a former Air Force meteorologist Brett hopes to marry his experience as both a team member and team leader working in international environments with his passion for large complex systems and dynamic environments in order to add value to an organization.


Madness Singh: Mandeep is a first year MBA student focusing on Operations and Supply Chain management. He has close to eight years of work experience, which varies from working with one of the top three Indian IT services company to starting his own web-based venture in e-commerce domain to working with a Math teaching startup. He worked for close to six years with Infosys Limited as an SAP Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) techno-functional Consultant for manufacturing and aerospace clients where he was a part of the teams which implemented SAP ERP packages and was awarded ‘Key contributor’ by the client. In addition to requirements gathering, designing and programming, he was responsible for project and process management. Then he took a bold move to start his own web-based startup in the domain of e-commerce with a vision to facilitate delayed purchase when prices of products fall. Unfortunately, things did not go well on that front. He holds a Bachelors in Production Engineering from Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh, India. Outside his professional life, Mandeep is a professionally trained folk dance artist, a rookie guitar player and a long distance runner.
