In honor of Black History Month, the Black MBA Association is hosting: “Lessons from Corporate America, What Diversity Means in a Time of Highly Charged Racial Tensions.”

The world’s attention has been drawn recently to the events of Ferguson, Missouri, and Staten Island, New York where events have captured the nation’s attention and re-invigorated the discussions on civil rights. These conversations have not only taken place in town halls and churches. Panelists from both the public and private sector will be discussing race, prejudice, unconscious bias, micro-aggressions and the harm to morality and productivity of people of color who must manage and mitigate these hurdles on a day to day basis within the workplace.

Explore economic prosperity and lasting social and environmental change at the 7th annual Social Enterprise Symposium (SES). SES is hosted by the Center for Social Value Creation and is the University of Maryland’s premiere event on social enterprise and social entrepreneurship. Learn from and engage with thought leaders in the space, including Shira Shafir, Director of Social Innovation and Impact at TOMS Shoes. Be sure to arrive early!
